How to Mine Muncoin

Muncoin!

Muncoin was released in late December of 2017.

Wallet

First you will need a wallet to store all of the Muncoin you will be mining. The latest version of the wallet can be downloaded from the following links.

Windows

Linux

Mining Software

To connect to pools and begin mining Muncoin you will first need to get software that allows you to do so. Depending on whether you have an AMD or Nvidia graphics card will depend on which software you need to download.

Nvidia

For Nvidia graphics cards you will want to download ccminer from the following GIT repo:

https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases

**It is possible that your antivirus will flag this as a virus or malicious file. This is a false positive. The reason this is sometimes flagged as a virus is because several different malware’s use this program on infected computers to mine to their own wallets and make money off of other peoples machines.

AMD

For AMD graphics cards you will want to download sgminer from the following GIT repo:

https://github.com/signatumd/releases/raw/master/sigt-miner.zip

Mining the coin

First we will need your wallet address so that the pool you will be connecting to will know where to send your coin. To obtain this we will open the wallet by double clicking the mun-qt.exe file within the wallet folder you download.

Once the wallet is open go to the “Receive” tab. Within the receive tab you will then click on the “Request payment” tab. Lastly, once your request payment information pop up, you will obtain your wallet address by clicking on the “Copy Address” button. This is also shown below.

Now that you have your wallet, you will have to set up the mining software. Once again, this is going to be different commands depending on which graphics card you are using.

Nvidia

For Nvidia graphics cards you will be using ccminer.

The easiest way to get up and running is to download this windows batch file which I created for easy launch and optimization of the Nvidia graphics card and ccminer.

  1. Download this batch file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0v65397tdsqxalt/munMining.bat?dl=0
  2. Right click on the batch file and click “edit”
  3. Remove the address after the -u and replace it with the address you obtained from your wallet earlier. The wallet address is highlighted in the picture below.
  4. Rename the ccminer folder to “ccminer” (it will probably be named something like ccminer-x64-2.2.4-cuda9 when it is unzipped)
  5. Place the batch file next to the folder now named ccminer.

6. Double click the batch file and you should be up and running!

If you would like to manually type everything out, you can follow the steps below.

  1. Open up a command prompt from your start menu. This is done by going in the lower left hand corner and clicking on the start menu, then type “cmd”. You will see a something appear that says “Command Prompt”, click this.
  2. Now we will have to navigate to the ccminer folder. To do this first type “cd” into your command prompt, then you will drag and drop the folder into the command prompt. The text that will then appear in your command prompt will look something like the following. Then press enter.

3. We now should be where we have to be to run the ccminer command. The command you run should look similar to this one with the wallet number swapped with your wallet address.

The ccminer executable will be named differently if you have the 32 bit version.

AMD

For AMD graphics cards you will be using sgminer.

Done!

At this point you should be up and running mining muncoin! You can track your statistics at http://poolr.io to keep track of what you are mining. If you have any question please feel free to message me on linkedin or comment below and I will get back to you.

Once again please do all upfront research to decide what your graphics card can handle. This is intense on the graphics card and even though it is very rare, random accidents have been known to happen.
